Many who come to our office for the first time walk out feeling better that same day.  I always ask regarding the more severe conditions, “Why did you wait so long to make an appointment?” Fear and anxiety of pain is the general response. Following the examination and given the diagnosis, the patient is encouraged to participate in the decision making process of their care.  Conservative care is always our first-line treatment, but pending the degree of discomfort, an individual may agree that a more assertive approach be taken.  There are many foot and ankle issues that if treated in a timely fashion can stop progression and prevent any recurring issues.  I love to hear and strive for, “I wish I would have come here sooner.”
